New to Roleplaying?Roleplaying is one of the best pasttimes for any artist or writer on dA. It helps artists interact with one another through characters and collaborative writing. I've gotten many friends from the :devlegend-of-zeldarp-da:, and after a while a Roleplay group turns into a family.
Of course, there's always some people who have trouble with RPing, as they believe themselves to be bad writers or unable to stay in character. Sometimes, RPing just takes some getting used to; other times, one needs the help of a veteran. That's what this article is about; helping new or struggling RPers with the best dA pasttimes around!

.     /           Yami Yugi/Atem’s Character Profile The meaning of my names: Atem (a pun of Aten, who was a Pharaoh, which means "disk of the Sun") Yami no Yugi (darkness of Yugi): Yami (darkness), no (an article signifying relation/possession/location; can be translated to 'of'), Yugi (game) Mou Hitori No Boku (other person of me): Mou (other, more, extra), Hitori (person), no (of), Boku ('I' - more commonly used by boys) Mou Hitori No Yuugi (other person of Yugi) Namonaki farao (Nameless Pharaoh) First and Last Name: Yami Yugi My Japanese names: Atem (real name), Yami no Yugi, Mou Hitori No Boku (what my aibou Yugi calls me), Mou Hitori No Yuugi, Namonaki farao My English/dub names: Atem (real name), Yami Yugi or just Yami for short My nicknames: Pharaoh, Dark Yugi, the other Yugi, Yu-Gi-Oh, spirit of the Millennium Puzzle My gender: Male My race: Human My age: 3,000 My blood type: O Height: 5'4 My birthday: March 18 (unofficial) Eye color/colors: Purple (Yugioh DM) or red (Toei Animation's Yu-Gi-Oh! First series) Where I was born: Egypt in the ancient past Languages: Egyptian and English ------------------------------------------------------- My History: In the ancient Egyptian past I barely defeated Zorc Necrophades, and sacrificed my life in the process. I used my ancient Egyptian name as part of a spell that sealed Zorc and my own soul in the Millennium Items. My soul got sealed in the Millennium Puzzle. My puzzle was shattered and laid to rest in the Pharaoh's tomb. 3,000 years later (5,000 in the English anime), the Puzzle was found by Yugi’s grandpa Solomon Muto. Solomon's guide attempted to kill him to take the Pharaoh's treasure for himself. After the guide met his fate at the hands of a monster, Solomon was saved by my spirit form. When he returned home, he brought the Puzzle back with him. His grandson, Yugi Muto, solved the Puzzle, which caused my spirit to inhabit Yugi's body. My soul, which comes to be known as "the other Yugi" or "Yami Yugi", was now missing the vast majority of my memories. My family: Mother (Name unknown) Father (Aknamkanon) Aknadin (uncle) Priest Seto (cousin) ------------------------------------------------------- My personality traits: At the beginning of the first Yugioh series and Yugioh DM I’m slightly reserved and I don't reveal my existence to Yugi or his friends. After Yugi admits to thinking that I exist inside him, his friends become aware of my existence and accept me as a friend.. I'm serious when I'm playing Duel Monsters. I refuse to lose games, without considering the consequences., I'm a loyal friend, My pride is my greatest strength and also one of my greatest weaknesses., I’m good at playing games, I’m also wise and intelligent. I know all the rules and details of how the games are played. I'm also capable of reading the ancient language of my people and figuring out riddles or clues and what they mean., and I protect all my friends from harm. My duelist rank: King of Games My most precious possession is the Millennium Puzzle that I wear on a rope or a chain. ------------------------------------------------------- Hair color/colors/hairstyle (Human/Human like animals): My hair colors: My hair features multiple layers of long blond crocked, pointy locks for the fringe. Unlike Yugi's hair, some of the blond locks jut upwards. The rest of my hair features six large spikes colored black with magenta/purple/red rims all along the edges. Skin color/colors: Yami Yugi –peach Pharaoh Atem- tan ------------------------------------------------------- Clothing (shirts, pants, etc.): My outfits: At the beginning of the first anime series, my outfit consists of the standard male Domino High uniform complete with a closed buckled collar on my neck. It is also noted that my uniform becomes a darker shade of blue when I assume control of Yugi. Unlike Yugi, I sometimes wear the jacket as a cape. When I played Dungeon Dice Monsters against Duke Devlin, I wear a dark-gray long-sleeved shirt, a sleeveless vest, dark blue pants and black shoes. When Téa and I took a day together to find out about my Millennium Puzzle, I wore black linen and several pieces of wrist-chains, to match the Millennium Puzzle's chain. In Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters, I wear a different attire of a violet jacket and jeans. I also wear the Capsule Shooter on my left arm. In episode 4, I gain duel armor that allows me to become one with one of my capsule monsters. jewelry: I wear the Millennium Puzzle on a brown leather rope. The leather rope is later replaced with a chain.
